Obama was not shy about his admiration for Chance The Rapper. Our former president invited the music artist to The White House, and gave him career advice personally according to the 23 year old self made artist. “He’s a good man. Even if he wasn’t president, if his ass worked at, like, Red Lobster, he’d be just a good man working at Red Lobster,” said Chance after this encounter. Chance The Rapper wanted to honor Barack Obama and his family after his presidency ended. 4 days ago he went to Twitter and announced that he was launching a clothing line called ThankUObama. Among the selection, there is a shirt that honors Malia Obama, and even says “We all smoke, its ok”in small font at the bottom, which is an obvious homage to that one time everyone freaked out that the 18 year old was seen smoking at a music festival. Joe FreshGoods designed the line and he came out and explained that “With this project i wanted to timestamp a period in my life where i felt like i can do whatever i wanted to do and be whatever i wanted to be”. He continued to say “The night Obama won his first term gave me so much hope, especially & most importantly as a black man. I decided to make a collection saying ‘thank you’ and give me something to smile at every now and then when i look in the closet.”. Majority of the line is on back order with some, including an Obama basketball jersey, being sold out. The site actually crashed hours after launching due to so many people trying to get their hands on some merchandise.
